Yearbooks Desktop 2013 has launched!

Posted by: admin In: Press Release 24 Sep 2012 Comments: 0 Tags: 2013, desktop, launch, private label, year book, yearbook

As we reach the beginning of 2013 and the long awaited yearbook season begins, we wanted to send you a quick note to bring you up to speed on our software.  We at Northwestern Support Professionals pride ourselves on providing quality software and support, and our experience is truly enriched by having the opportunity to work with like minded professionals.  It has been a pleasure to work with our existing customers, and we look forward to working with you for years to come.

We have been operating under Simon Smith’s ownership for just over one year now, and we hope that you’ll agree that it’s been a positive change.  We are committed to improving the services we offer, and have been working diligently to enhance our software.  This season we have updated our Yearbooks program with a newer more modern look, and have also implemented some new features, including optional inside covers (Front and back), and automatic package submission.

We are approaching the end of our development season, and have begun putting together the generic, and privately branded builds of the software.

To compliment Yearbooks, our flagship publishing solution, we have also updated and re-released a similar program, “Books.”  Books is set up very similar to Yearbooks, but it is designed more for church or corporate style directories.  Books handles horizontal as well as vertical portrait images and includes a roster creation feature to include all members of an organization or church.  As this is our first year with the new version of Books, we would like to offer you unlimited use of the program, free of charge.  For this season, you’ll be able to generate Books registration codes without affecting your credit balance, or incurring any charges!

Five Favorite Sources for Pirate Clipart

Posted by: admin In: Uncategorized 19 Sep 2012 Comments: 0

As you may know, it’s International Talk Like a Pirate Day, which means it’s time to add a healthy dose of “Ahoy”s and “Yaaargh”s to our daily lexicon.

In the spirit of all things pirate and the daily battle to find great (and affordable) clipart, we thought we’d post a link to some of our favorite clipart sources.

So batten down the hatches and hoist the mainsails, here are our five favorite sources for pirate clipart.

  1. Openclipart.org – “The Open Clipart Library (OCAL) is the largest collaborative community that creates, shares and remixes clipart. All clipart is released to the public domain and may be used in any project for free with no restrictions.”. Nuff said? Probably the best resource available for public domain clipart (pirate clipart on OCAL)
  2.

  3. CLKER.com – A clipart repository where all the images have been released by their author into the public domain. Similar to OCAL, CLKER offers a few extra choices to round things out. (pirate clipart on CLKER)
  4.

  5. Wikimedia Commons – More for photographs, you can occasionally find something that’s been released into the public domain. (pirate clipart on Wikimedia Commons)
  6.

  7. Clipart.com – With subscriptions starting from $14.95 for a single week (with a 250 image/week limit for downloads), Clipart.com is a fairly priced choice to ensure that there’s a slightly higher level of quality, just make sure to get your money’s worth and download your limit. 8.

  9. Microsoft Office – Free is free. Microsoft Office provides free clipart for use in desktop publishing. (pirate clipart on office.microsoft.com)
